[00:00:00] Speaker A: Oh, man. [00:00:01] Speaker B: And we are live. Hi, guys. I am Heather with Head in the. [00:00:05] Speaker A: Clouds Andres, a real estate agent in the Huntsville area and host of Chad lsnc. Yes, and Heather, tonight. Today, we have the pleasure of joining us, Aaron Rose from Yuba county northeast of Sacramento. So, Aaron, man, thank you for showing up today. Thank you for being here. I appreciate you. [00:00:26] Speaker C: Hey, I really appreciate you guys taking the time to interview me and hope that my story can be inspirational to the people that show up today and hopefully help us connect and do some more growth in our businesses together. I'm excited. [00:00:40] Speaker A: Thank you. Thank you. [00:00:43] Speaker B: We are streaming live today, guys. We are on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube. Unfortunately not tick tock today, but you can follow us there or you can follow us on our website at Real Talk. Ha. Live. [00:00:58] Speaker A: Nice. Nice, man, it's exciting today. Heather, we've. I've met Aaron over a few months ago and, and I've seen the girl he has done over the past few months since we started working together and briefly talked to him a couple of weeks ago and interviewed him on Cloud Realty Last week, out of nowhere, he showed up be like, hey, man, I can. Can I have you on board here for a quick interview? And he's like, yeah, sure. And afterwards, we talk a few. A few times more. And man, so many things are happening in, in his life, in his business. And, and we're not going to dive into all the details into that today, but today we want to have a casual conversation on learning a little bit about his journey. Right. A part of this things that we talk about here is if we want to hear other people's stories, we want to hear other people's journey until how they got into real estate, the impact that real estate is doing in their life. And, and I'm excited to hear all about it. [00:02:02] Speaker C: I heard, I heard that cats go viral, so my cat decided to help out today. Say hi, Mittens. [00:02:08] Speaker B: I was just gonna say, oh, we have a special, special guest. Hello, Mittens. [00:02:13] Speaker D: Yeah, Mittens is going to run for. [00:02:16] Speaker C: President soon, but I don't want to get too political, so thank you guys. [00:02:21] Speaker E: For that awesome introduction. [00:02:22] Speaker B: Mittens for president. [00:02:23] Speaker C: I'm really excited. Mittens and Tommy, my orange tabby and my little calico, they're my heroes. [00:02:32] Speaker A: There you go. [00:02:33] Speaker D: They're right in, Ken. [00:02:34] Speaker C: There you go. Right, let's see how much of a vote they can get so I can promote my education and health business and happy homes with happy cats. [00:02:43] Speaker A: There we go. [00:02:45] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:02:47] Speaker C: So where are we getting started here today? I think we Were talking about just kind of a brief background on kind of what brought me into real estate and then get going from there. [00:02:58] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:03:00] Speaker C: So I just give a quick overview because I think everybody's background story is interesting and kind of informs why they make the decisions they make. And if we could ever get somebody's entire background story, we would totally know why they do the crazy things that they do. [00:03:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:15] Speaker C: So for me, I lived in about 13 houses by the time I was 13 in LA and all over with like a messy family that got divorced when I was really young and, and then my dad moved us to China so that he could study Chinese medicine and I got to learned from a box of books for three years before I was about to go crazy, jump off a building or escape back to my uncle in Santa Rosa. So I managed to transition back when I was about 16 and have a couple years of high school back there, transition into junior college, went to Santa Cruz, majored in Chinese and linguistics and then found myself called to go back to China for another 12 years. And I spent those years finishing up my undergrad, teaching English, getting into test prep company that was doing a test of professional English and then transitioning into outsourced manufacturing, logistics, risk management consulting. And finally I petered out in the position of Asia Pacific director for a year where I was helping Coherent Laser set up warranty bonded warehouses for like quarter million dollar laser equipment so that they didn't have to pay taxes until after it sold so they could store their equipment there and then, and then sell it and pay taxes and only have to tax burden of the sales and not just the inventory landing in China. So that was kind of my pinnacle achievement in China. And I was burnt out and I was ready to start a family. So we moved back to California in about 29 and bounced around for a while with family until we settled down in Southern California for a year, bought our house down there and I worked as a director for a tutoring company and I also did electronic component sales while we were getting established in SoCal. We got a got a rude call one morning from my boss who said good news, bad news, I bought the company. I no longer just have to manage it. The bad news is I used your salary to do it, so you need to start attracting investors for 10%. And I just set up a company to launch and to grow that educational supplemental education tutoring brand like with him. And I just kind of went okay, no, that's enough. And we started our own college planning company which my wife and I grew for about 12 years. Well, it's still alive, but it's kind of. We'll get to that. It's on ice right now. We're trying to put some new life back into it. So we grew that to about a million a year in revenue. Probably about 850,000 was our highest revenue year in about 2005 or so. No, sorry, 2000. I guess 12, maybe like 2018 was probably our peak year. And then things started to go downhill and then crashed pretty hard with the pandemic. And that brought me and my family out to Browns Valley where I've been for the last four years, since 2021. So we got our real estate license, my wife got her loan officer license, and we started building this business. First I spent a year at century 21 and then I transferred to a small boutique brokerage that couldn't support my mixed use listings. So I finally ended up with EXP and that's when our journey here begins. Because at exp, my sponsor met Sean and I was like talking about this, that and the other thing one day and he's like, hey, I found this cool company called Cloud Realty. They do all this really cool stuff and they're led by this guy who's really sharp and knows what he's doing. I was like, well, you know, I'm tired of the marketing company I'm working with. They're sending me on wild goose chases every day, so why not, you know, let's give it a shot. So that was probably, I think, August last year or so. [00:06:51] Speaker A: Yeah, just about August. [00:06:52] Speaker C: And I. Yeah, and I. I just been warming up with EXP and really getting ramped up because I'm into the agent attraction side of the business as much as I am the production side. And I want to make sure I can do the production before I attract too many agents into my world. So I think the last eight months has taken me from about two listings to about 15 or 20. Honestly, I don't know how many listings I have right now because I just teamed up with another EXP broker that just transferred his brand over from Sierra Heritage. Like he's just in the process of closing down his old brokerage and going full EXP and he's talking to me, all of my county. He's got me like three listings, two buyers, and I'm going on a showing for a restaurant that we got listed up here this afternoon. So definitely since starting with Cloud, I have seen a huge growth spurt in my business. I think some of the links I sent you. Andres is like the Google, my business page that barely existed when we started. And I've got my real estate website that you guys have been helping me with too. So a lot of good things. I think the thing that Cloud has helped me the most is to step away from a lot of the mundane, kind of calling Internet leads and then following up so that I can just deal with people that are ready to act. And so I think having that freedom to go out and do more networking and do what I love to do has been a great support for my engine. So I just want a big, big thanks to you guys. [00:08:20] Speaker A: Nice man. You, you impacted a lot there over past, what, five, ten years. So if you could. [00:08:32] Speaker C: Yeah, you know, it's, it's. [00:08:35] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:08:35] Speaker A: If you can rewind, let's say the past three years, you know, when you were starting with your real estate license and what, what did this early month. [00:08:50] Speaker B: You're breaking up? I think the question. [00:08:53] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. I think I know where you're going that. With that. So when I got my license, my life was in a tailspin. You know, the pandemic was going on. I decided in an instant to like sell my house and leave the city behind. And while I was transitioning from LA to Browns Valley, from the city to my Green Acres ranch out here, I. I sold my little cul de sac, pizza pie wedge with a pool and a hot tub for 23 acres and twice the house and 75 the value. So I got my license in that mess. Took me about a year online to go through it because I was doing so many things at the same time. And all my friends were like, exp, you gotta go check them out. They're like the new coolest thing and they're all in real estate. So I'm like, okay, these are cool things. And I got my license and I got a call from somebody over at century 21 and you know what? I was like, I did my research and they had like the rating as the best place for new agents to start. So I was like, you know what? I like the idea of seeing what's out there before I get settled down. So I decided to do a little tour of duty and explore what's out there as an option. So I spent a year there. By Q4, I had the good fortune to be parked at the desk of a 30 year veteran who my manager advised me to follow with a notepad. And so I ended up Q4, the only person that had more transactions than me in our Whole office was my mentor. So we both got the joint award for most transactions in Q4. And I think that was completely due to her expertise and being willing to just mentor me and co list with me and do all of that. So that's a pro tip that when you're getting into this industry, find your way to the heel of somebody who's getting rid, ready to get out of this industry and do everything you can to be of service to that people and they will give back in spades. So that was the first success that I had, was working with Victoria Craig, who is still like a real estate godmother to me, and she's like the only person that I, I fear going up against because I have a true conflict of interest in enriching her life and my clients. [00:10:59] Speaker A: But such an important, such an important nugget there where that you said, you know, getting a mentor and really shadowing them and learning from them in this business. Because a lot of times we see real estate agents that come in here as new agents that, oh, they can do everything themselves, and next thing you know, they're out of the business because they did nothing for the first two years and they ran out of funds and they don't know where to go or have any sense of direction. Right. [00:11:30] Speaker C: And I, I was also blessed and fortunate to have a business that was doing pretty well and a lot of equity left over from my home sale. So my first three years, I will be honest, were pretty rough. And I probably ended up losing between that and day trading around $300,000 in three years. And I'll give a lot of credit to being kind of all over the place and not a good day trader. [00:11:59] Speaker A: How many hours? [00:12:00] Speaker E: Eventually, actually, that's my wife's game. I don't throw under the bus. [00:12:04] Speaker C: She's amazing. And sometimes you hit some speed bumps when you enter. Enter a new industry. And we entered quite a bit when we came up here, so. [00:12:12] Speaker B: So you guys had a lot of cookie jars open with hands and like everything then. [00:12:18] Speaker C: Yeah, I've always been a kind of a, like wild rose seed planter. And I like to spread the seeds and then prune as we go. And you'll see my garden in a sec. As my wife says, as you do one thing is as you do everything. And for me, life's a mess. A beautiful, big artistic mess filled with poetry and friends and music and challenges that are epic and sometimes boring. So just got to figure it out. [00:12:41] Speaker A: But that I. I think so. I think that's why you and I get along to work because I see. See life in a similar perspective. There's so many things around. There's so many opportunities that you can try to plant seeds here and there and water them. Yeah. And it's such a beautiful thing when you get the fruit of that, get to see the results of that down the road. How many hours would you say that you were, you know, committing to. To your mentor to. To that. That moment in time where you are would grow in the real estate space. [00:13:21] Speaker C: Yeah, like she probably get there at. [00:13:26] Speaker E: 10Am. [00:13:33] Speaker A: I think we lost the signal. Aaron. He's coming right back, ladies and gentlemen. [00:13:40] Speaker B: There he is. He's back. We got him back. [00:13:42] Speaker D: Oh, I had to move to my garden. I hope kill the signal. [00:13:47] Speaker A: It did. [00:13:52] Speaker B: It looks like an orchard. That's beautiful. [00:13:54] Speaker E: Yeah, those are my almonds. [00:13:56] Speaker D: We were just talking about almonds this morning. And right now it's like this is kind of what happens when you plant seeds because these trees weren't here when they got here. And now I've got all these nice almonds, strawberries, raspberries. And I like to come here to record my real estate farming videos because I like jokes and puns and double entendres of dad jokes. And so, you know, I'm kind of working on a theme of, you know, how to find the basil with the chives and jive with the buyers and the sellers before they leave. Raspberries. [00:14:35] Speaker A: It's coming in really choppy with the signal. [00:14:39] Speaker D: Trees don't like the Internet that much. [00:14:41] Speaker E: Please try. [00:14:44] Speaker D: Can you still hear me? [00:14:46] Speaker B: We can't hear you. A little better now. You're a little choppy for a second. I was gonna say. You're making me jealous with your almonds. I. I live in Georgia, the Atlanta area. And I always crave yogurt covered almonds. And for some reason they are extremely hard to find. Like nowhere carries them except for like sprouts and ingles. Now that I said that people are gonna. I won't find them anymore. [00:15:13] Speaker D: I got my watermelons. [00:15:17] Speaker A: You have a bit of everything in there. [00:15:19] Speaker D: So, yeah, I'm trying to get back to a place where my signal doesn't cut out here on you guys and give you. [00:15:27] Speaker A: I was telling you, I guess. [00:15:33] Speaker D: I. [00:15:34] Speaker A: Was telling Aaron that growing up, I used to pick up almonds. You can find that on almond trees everywhere in the yard. Same thing with guava and mango. So it's one of my goals when I buy a house down there to have all those trees back on, back in place. Good Memories of my child. [00:15:57] Speaker B: We had a avocado tree growing up and we had a Doberman pinscher named Flojo and he would eat the avocados and then sleep. And my tata used to get so mad because we wouldn't get the avocados because Floho would eat them before we could get them. [00:16:13] Speaker C: Okay, I'm back within my Internet range. Maybe that will help us. [00:16:19] Speaker A: There we go. Same thing at home. I had my. My aunt's husband planted a avocado tree. Maybe like 30 years ago or more than 30 years ago. For as long as I can remember, that tree has been there. [00:16:32] Speaker D: So are we back? [00:16:33] Speaker A: I would say it's been over 30 years. [00:16:36] Speaker B: We're back. We can't see you though. Your screen is completely blank. [00:16:48] Speaker C: Here. [00:16:48] Speaker E: You. [00:16:58] Speaker A: Still there? [00:16:59] Speaker B: It's kind of like a scary movie where it's like dark and you can just hear like the people walking. [00:17:06] Speaker A: Hey, it's Sabira. Doing this live right here, sweetie. [00:17:10] Speaker B: It's like, what? Where? Witch project. [00:17:13] Speaker A: What are they doing? So it's just fun. [00:17:18] Speaker B: But this is real. This is like how it really is. This is unedited. This is what happens in today's industry. It's. Everything is streamed, everything is online. [00:17:28] Speaker A: We can hear you, Aaron. [00:17:33] Speaker C: I can see you, but I can't hear you. [00:17:35] Speaker A: We can hear you, but we cannot see you. We can hear you, but we cannot see you there. [00:17:49] Speaker C: Did I mute you? [00:17:50] Speaker B: You turned your camera phone. [00:17:51] Speaker C: Decide to mute you. [00:17:58] Speaker A: You want to come back in? Nope. [00:18:09] Speaker C: It looks like you're getting sound. This is part of the problem of being in a land and ranch real estate career. My signal's always cutting in and out when the satellites go over. [00:18:27] Speaker A: What brought you over there? Can you hear us? [00:18:29] Speaker C: Still getting no audio. Thought we could do this from the phone. [00:18:44] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:52] Speaker C: No audio for me. [00:18:55] Speaker A: No. [00:19:01] Speaker B: Okay. Hopefully he'll come back and then we can get him back in. And it'll work this time. [00:19:06] Speaker A: Absolutely. Let's get him back on. But it's interesting, you know, so, so important what he said about when you join the real estate space. If you join a brokerage to. To have a mentor you can shadow, learn from them and. And really dedicate your time in order to. [00:19:25] Speaker C: Is that better, guys? [00:19:26] Speaker A: As possible. [00:19:27] Speaker B: We can hear you. [00:19:30] Speaker C: I can see you. [00:19:31] Speaker A: Can you hear us now? [00:19:32] Speaker D: I can't hear you. [00:19:35] Speaker B: That is so interesting. I don't know why he can't hear us. We can hear him. [00:19:40] Speaker C: Yeah, Anybody? Hello? [00:19:42] Speaker D: Hello? [00:19:44] Speaker A: Pete, check on the settings. Aaron. [00:19:51] Speaker B: You want to text him and tell him to check the settings. Maybe he turned his phone volume down because I'm looking at our settings, everything looks good and this guy's happens technical difficulties. Just bear with us. [00:20:20] Speaker A: It is outstanding. [00:20:25] Speaker B: Yeah. To your point, Andres, we've discussed that too and we've talked about like how I made, you know, the mistake and didn't get to have my check at paid at closing because I didn't have that form. So I, I totally agree. If not somebody who's established well in the business, at least the whole like big brother, big sister type thing to walk you through your, you know, transactions when you're first starting. [00:20:50] Speaker A: Yeah. It really makes a huge impact on your business. Right. Because you, you want to learn the activities that are going to generate more. Well, you want to have under sometimes understand the different techniques, negotiations and things like that. So having a mentor that you can shadow, it's incredibly important. [00:21:18] Speaker B: Oh, we got video. All right. We can see you. We can hear you. Can you hear us? Nope. One, One of the things he was talking about that I found very interesting was that with his other companies that he had and his other business endeavors before he became a real estate agent, there wasn't like a easy peasy, you know, rainbows and kittens path. It seems like it doesn't really matter the industry. Anytime you're an entrepreneur, business owner, business developer, whatever have you, there's always going to be a challenge. There's always going to be struggles. There's always going to be issues, like he had said, with the partner that ended up kind of going their own ways and separating. There's always going to have, you're always going to have those issues. No matter what the industry is, it is. [00:22:15] Speaker A: And I think that's the beauty of it. Over the past week I was listening to a book, Unwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill. And on the audio, it's such a, it's such a great book because it's based on an interview base like Napoleon Hill interviewing the Devil and some of the things that is talked about there is in order to gain wisdom, you have to go through, through some failures, you have to go through setbacks in your life in order to. And those are the best teachers in life. Right. So as an entrepreneur, no matter what business you go through, you're always going to have and you're always going to face different challenges in there. It's just a matter of, you know, making the, learning from those setbacks, those challenges, making adjustments and, and growing from there. Right. And, and, and as Aaron said, welcome back, sir. Learning from Those challenges. [00:23:19] Speaker E: My phone told me that I'm supposed to be in my car because I have to get ready for my next appointment when we're done here, so. [00:23:26] Speaker A: See, so it was doing all that just to bring you back into production car. So your Bluetooth signal and protection. [00:23:37] Speaker E: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. My phone decided it was time to change scenes and go sit down in the car where I have my best charger. [00:23:48] Speaker A: There you go. See, now even the phone is guiding you to, to the next appointment. [00:23:54] Speaker E: What were we saying about life's epic up and downs? This is perfect. So I, I, I tried to show off my garden and my, in my, in my passion and my phone' Stay on point. [00:24:10] Speaker A: You gotta get back to work after this. [00:24:12] Speaker E: Yeah, exactly. No more messing around in the garden, man. That's just for you go out there. But, but anyway, I was just kind of like riffing on that because I'm doing this exp. Land and ranch outlaw society ambassadorship. And with that I'm kind of playing off this garden thing for my real estate farming, you know, planting seeds. I've got my Chinese dates for our date with destiny and other little themes like that. Because I love to garden. I think a lot of other people do too. And I'm kind of building into this next chapter right now. So planting lots of seeds is great, but if you didn't notice, my garden is a huge mess. I've never pruned my trees. My strawberries have grown from one long bed into three and taken over the, the plants, the raspberries. The strawberries are in war with each other. They're trying to take out my onions. And I love it when I've got so many things fighting to feed me. And so like multiple streams of income is kind of one of my life dreams. And also then the next phase is for me learning how to pare it down to the like basics. So this chapter right now for me is about getting back to basics. And I kind of started to form a three part harmony between real estate education and wellness. So it came together in an interesting way. I was recruiting an agent with Alan Savage up at Sierra Heritage Realty as he's just transitioning into our brokerage. And when we were done, he gave me a little smoothie and I was like, that's pretty good. What's that? He said, oh, I'll talk to Dave and Amy. And before I knew it, I was in a conference on a car driving 13 hours, 16 hours back and forth to Denver this last weekend and hearing from some like world class Speakers including like Jesse Ixler who is like our keynote speaker. He's been on Joe Rogan, if you guys don't know. I got to shake his hand and ask him to come and live with me for a month. He's, he's not coming. His wife won't allow it. But I only asked him because he, he, he'd had a like marine live with him for a month and he told a really inspiring story. So I snuck backstage and said hey man, that was awesome. But right now it's like these three pieces to me is like better health, better homes and better learning are the beginning of like the next chapter for me, where I'm heading. And so it's been a few little pieces. One of them is publishing for click funnels. So like it's kind of hard to figure out where to start. But I've got one book that I'm supposed to finish by Friday and that's probably just going to be a simple seller's book that goes onto my Google, my business page to enhance the attraction there. And as it grows, I'm planning to expand this with the partnership and potentially an in house publishing department that we develop, we'll see to help other agents to develop their own professional networks to develop their own best selling how to books as they transition through from being just a production agent to a team leader. Right. So my first goal is to get up to like 12 to 20 listings and you guys have been instrumental in helping me get there with all the social media, with all the follow up, with all the leads. And so I'm really grateful that I have a team like you guys to work with because it's freed me up to start looking at other opportunities and figuring out how to weave them back in and save my dying education company that's been on freeze mode since we moved out here from the city and went seven hours from our home office and closed it down and went online. [00:28:02] Speaker C: So. [00:28:05] Speaker A: You mentioned something so, so important that you mentioned the, you know, help real estate agents publish book to become from agents to become team leaders. But something that I always, I've talked to a number of agents over the past year and a half as introduction with clarity and something that I've, I see a lot of times missing is agents don't have an exit strategy. [00:28:29] Speaker E: Right. [00:28:29] Speaker A: What are your thoughts on that? [00:28:32] Speaker E: Yeah, that's the old adage, right. Realtors don't retire, they expire. And, and I have, I have, I have kind of a conflict of my own thoughts on that. On the one hand I just got done reading about John Anderson. Who UCLA Anderson School of Business was named after this guy died on The Forbes Top 100 list of the 1 wealthiest people in the country with a holding company with 33 companies representing 33 interest industries. And he died on a Friday after working his last day on a Thursday. You know, and I'd say that was a life well lived. Perhaps a little bit more business than I really aspire to, but it's definitely inspiring when I think about retirement because it's like, what do you do that's meaningful? And you know, for me, I want to spend my days in retirement helping other agents, having time on like, you know, vacation work vacations around the world where I can be writing books, you know, maybe working on some creative endeavors and an income stream that I'm building through. [00:29:50] Speaker A: Oh, we lost him again. [00:29:52] Speaker B: We lost him again. [00:29:54] Speaker A: It's either the car or the phone, right? I want him to get back to work, but that's so important there, you know. [00:30:03] Speaker B: Is he back? [00:30:04] Speaker E: Okay, maybe I can hear you, but. [00:30:07] Speaker A: I cannot see you. [00:30:09] Speaker E: My phone is barely hanging on here. I'm on 1% on a, on a, on a phone cord in my car and it's trying to like keep charging it. I gotta rev the gas on the engine or else it's gonna die. [00:30:23] Speaker A: Now you're gonna drive around the block or the mountain. [00:30:29] Speaker B: That's not like the perfect metaphor for real estate. Sometimes I'm on one person. My phone on the charger. [00:30:36] Speaker A: Hey, we're talking to real estate agent here. This is, this is the beauty of it, right? [00:30:42] Speaker E: My phone right now is turning your voice into Mickey Mouse. I. I'm like hearing you on like a super high frequency vibration, like you've just sucked helium. I think it's gonna catch up and normalize in a second here. [00:30:54] Speaker A: But identify that. I had the Mickey Mouse shirt. [00:31:00] Speaker E: Oh, you. You're doing that on purpose. Is that like a filter or is that just my phone? [00:31:07] Speaker A: That's your phone, brother. [00:31:09] Speaker C: Okay, good. [00:31:13] Speaker E: Can you guys hear me okay? [00:31:16] Speaker A: Yeah, we can't. [00:31:18] Speaker E: Okay, so where were we, Andres? [00:31:21] Speaker B: You were talking about ins. I think you're saying like a revenue stream from. And then something like that. And then you cut out. [00:31:31] Speaker A: Establishing revenue sources. [00:31:35] Speaker E: Yeah. So basically Isagenix is the name of this healthcare products company that I'm getting involved in. And it's another multi level that produces a wellness system of supplements for weight loss, aging, hair loss, whatever kind of supplements you take. That's a side piece that I'm growing with a couple of Other people to develop click funnels and things like that. So that can run in the background for my business. Focusing most of my energy on real estate for now. Team growing there maybe in a couple of years, hopefully transitioning more into full time publishing and using publishing as a marketing and path. [00:32:31] Speaker B: Did he lose you again? [00:32:33] Speaker A: I think we did. We lost you for a few seconds there. [00:32:39] Speaker B: Oh, sorry. Go ahead, Anders. [00:32:40] Speaker A: I was going to ask you, you mentioned you. You know, the triangle. How does that triangle influence. Influence the way you do business and. And how you live your life having that balance? I think he's fun. Probably died. [00:33:02] Speaker B: I think so. Yeah. Because I don't hear him at all. Oh, he's back. [00:33:14] Speaker A: We got you. Do we get you there was. Don't you have you. [00:33:19] Speaker C: Hello. [00:33:20] Speaker E: I'm gonna log back in. [00:33:26] Speaker A: We're putting on a show today. Right back and forth. [00:33:31] Speaker B: So now you see me, now you don't. [00:33:33] Speaker A: Yep. Right. Hey, them. Hey. This is a trailer for that movie coming up, right? [00:33:38] Speaker B: Exactly. And I mean like things happen when you're dealing with Internet streaming and you're dealing with different computers, different networks. You're going to have issues, you're going to have things like this. The key is just to keep moving forward. Don't let like. Can you imagine if this was like our first ever podcast and like this kept happening? I could see us getting really discouraged and being like, oh my gosh. But luckily, I think we had a. [00:34:03] Speaker A: Couple of things happen during the first one. [00:34:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:08] Speaker A: I think so far every episode we have something. [00:34:11] Speaker B: I know there's always a little hiccup. [00:34:13] Speaker A: Here and there, but you know what? That I'm in a. In a group setting that they're talking about creating content, video content. Right. And I heard this, I'm listening to a book as well about similar things in YouTube. And one of the things that as real estate agents, we always say we're too busy to create content. Right. And we don't realize that the content that we're creating would allow us to have more time than the rover. So it's finding the time to get it done. And I always say a lot of the people there, oh, I don't know what to do. I need to be perfect. I need to have certain content, I need to look at certain way. Sometimes it's just a matter of doing it right. I always say we are our biggest obstacle. And sometimes you just got to do it. And you, you're gonna have situation like this, where is there Internet, the signal, technical issues. Sometimes things are not ready like this I'm gonna say it like we just put together last week. I had. I had a no show, an event on a particular interview. The person didn't show up. I invited Aaron last minute. I called Aaron during the time of the interview and said, hey, Aaron, can you show up for this interview? My. My original guest didn't show up, and he's just stepped up, and we made it happen. But this is the beauty of it. Sometimes you just got to pull things like this and continue to put the show together. [00:35:42] Speaker B: Yep. [00:35:43] Speaker A: But I think Aaron touched on a couple of points that as real estate agents, sometimes we don't. We don't pay attention to it because we're focused on the production. We're focused on trying to get the next deal. But I think at the same time, you also need to have a. The overall picture. Look at the overall picture of your business and have a plan on where you want to go, you know, a year, three, year, five, year 10, and so on, so that you can start planting those seeds and start growing those. Those plants. Because at the end of the day, you also need a exit strategy. And like Aaron said, you know, sometimes. A lot of times we see real estate agent expire rather than accident business. Right. [00:36:29] Speaker B: And I think people get tunnel vision sometimes. Not just in the real estate industry, but any industry occupation. People are so focused on producing so much so that they can have a good life that they forget to enjoy that good life. Why? They have the opportunity to live it. [00:36:47] Speaker A: Yeah, it really. It really just. Just fly by. [00:36:52] Speaker B: It does. [00:36:53] Speaker A: You're enjoying the moment, and next thing you know, you're looking back and you're like, oh, man, I didn't. I didn't do this. I didn't plant those seeds. And. [00:37:03] Speaker C: Well, I'm doing my best to enjoy. [00:37:05] Speaker E: This one with you guys. My phone really wants to give me a hard time here today, but I appreciate you guys. I don't know if it's gonna let me finish this interview. [00:37:22] Speaker B: We'll have you back again. [00:37:26] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm gonna have to. [00:37:27] Speaker C: I'm gonna. [00:37:28] Speaker E: I might have to just reset because you're still coming in Mickey Mouse, like, on my phone, and it just wants to cut my video off. I'll. I'll keep going with this as long as it makes sense and you guys can hear me, but it's. My phone is giving me some technical bumps. [00:37:45] Speaker A: Hey, let's see if afterwards we hear Mickey Mouse voice, but on our end, we don't hear it. So, Aaron, if you can still hear me, you know, how do you how do you translate that mindset into. Into some of the other agents that you come across that you want to bring to your team, to your organizations, as you continue to mentor them? [00:38:17] Speaker E: Working do this, brother, we're gonna have to replay because to hear your questions, and it's just. It's such a great opportunity to talk to you guys, but I'm. I'm hearing you coming in as like, highspeed delay on the. On the feed, so I don't know if I sound. No worries to you guys, but right now it's like the full on helium speed, high pitch delay, and even that is barely coming in. [00:38:49] Speaker A: No worries, man. We can set it up at another time. [00:38:53] Speaker E: This is what we call learning, and I'm all about learning. [00:38:57] Speaker C: So if you want to talk about. [00:38:59] Speaker E: Mindset, these types of things are the things that most agents use to give themselves an excuse to get out of the business. And for me, this is like, I wonder what's going on there. Maybe I should charge my phone. [00:39:14] Speaker C: Maybe I should charge it more in. [00:39:16] Speaker E: Advance, but maybe there's a few other things. We can work out some kinks next time and start this one afresh because at this point, I'm just talking to myself. I love your beautiful faces. And we can come back and relaunch this one in a week or whenever it fits on our schedules. [00:39:40] Speaker A: Sounds good, man. We can. We can revisit this and put it back on the calendar. We can. [00:39:47] Speaker E: Yeah. I'm gonna try and leave and come back one more time, and if it doesn't work. [00:39:57] Speaker B: We should do it. Let's actually talk like Mickey Mouse this time. [00:40:05] Speaker A: No, that would really kick them out. Right? He's gonna be like, what. What happened here? But. But, man. Man, I talked to Aaron and. And. And he has so many things going on right now that it's. His business skyrocketed over the past year or so. I used to seeing or hear Mickey Mouse. It. [00:40:31] Speaker C: You know what? [00:40:31] Speaker E: Now you sound when you say, my business is skyrocketing. I can hear you loud and clear. Phone's gonna allow us to proceed? [00:40:45] Speaker A: Probably not. He wants you to get back to work. [00:40:48] Speaker B: It says you got businesses to run and you've got mittens campaigns. [00:40:52] Speaker E: Exactly. [00:40:52] Speaker C: I got. [00:40:53] Speaker E: I got. I got leads coming as you're doing this. [00:41:03] Speaker A: You have le. [00:41:04] Speaker E: Guys, I love you so much. I love you guys so much. Thank you guys for everything you're doing for me and for so many agents. We'll do this again. I promise to charge my phone next. [00:41:17] Speaker C: Time. [00:41:20] Speaker E: And settle down off the drive and all of that, but thank you, guys. And yeah, this is. This is perfect. This is exactly like my garden. This is the way I build my businesses is like one failure at a time, failing forward every step of the way. And if you guys want to come and fail with me or work on some book deals or figure out a little bit more about, like, the health products that we're doing, I tell you one last thing. I've got a best ever with this healthcare products company for Realtors, because somebody who's not gonna buy a house or sell their home for the next six to 12 months, and she's interested. Some. [00:42:09] Speaker A: Some signals. [00:42:10] Speaker B: Right. I was gonna say. And we'll never know. [00:42:15] Speaker A: We lost you there. [00:42:18] Speaker B: I think we may have lost him. Lost him this time. I don't know. [00:42:24] Speaker A: And. And some of the things that he. He's creating, like a ecosystem, helping if. If people are not in a position to be able to purchase their home, he has way for them to be able to increase their revenue through different aspects and eventually get to a position where they are able to buy property. So talk briefly to him about that. And I think it's a great way to. To help those families, friends that are looking for additional ways to. To become homeowners. So I thought it was. I thought it was great. Can't wait to really dive into the specific on that on another episode, because today, you know, we're real estate agents. Things happen last minute. We changed schedule. Phone dies last minute. [00:43:15] Speaker B: So it's great to see life happens. That's how it is sometimes. But I definitely want to dive into what he's talking about, especially what you were saying about helping, you know, buyers become home owners. That whole journey, the path from, you know, whether renting or, you know, living with your. Your first family, your parents, and then you grow up and it's time to move out. That path to homeownership isn't always an easy path. And I think a lot of real estate agents, they don't want to deal with that. They want the buyers that have like 500,000. They're ready to go 750 credit score. They have this idea of what the perfect client is, and they don't want to deal with anybody else who may not be ready yet. And I think that's so sad because everybody deserves to be in a home. [00:44:06] Speaker A: Absolutely. I think yesterday we did a little exercise on visualizing what my business is in five years. Right. And in the process, help you understand your reason why you're doing what I'm doing. Like in My case, in the process of walking up the mountain, I was having a conversation with, with myself 30 years down the road and I learned that I freaking made it. You know, I, I achieve all the things that I wanted to achieve in my business and more. But in the process, I identify that what I think is my reason why I do this business, it's only on the surface level, right? My reason why it is to help families, you know, that are come to this country or anyone that, that is looking to buy a home, to become homeowners and achieve some level of financial freedom through real estate, right? On the surfers level, that's what my reason why is. But as I dug deeper into that, I realized that I want to help people that are tired, frustrated of being in the right race, people that are living patient to paycheck, people that, that are coming here and work 60 hours a week and, and not be able to, to enjoy a vacation trip without a setback, not being able to spend time and time with the family they, they love, whether it's family around them. With his family out of the country, family in another state. There's people that live here that are working 60 hours a week and not able to be able to have those things in life because if they stop working, they fall behind. If they fall behind, they live on the summer stress. And, and I realized how important that is because a lot of people like this can buy, can become homeowners, they just don't know it yet, you know, So I want to be able to connect. And that's my avatar. I realized that's my avatar. You know how we always say, what's your avatar? Who do you want to work with? That's my avatar, my personal. Because there's so many of us, so many people in that position that I've seen around me growing up and, and I took a chance when I started this business, right? And I still see people like that, you know, people that when I was growing up, when I was 15, 20 years old, and they're still in that position, you know, and just to give you a quick example, I, I went when I started working in San Diego, the company that I was working with, I told one of my co worker, hey, I'm going to become a real estate agent. Yeah, I'm going to be successful in the real estate agents. And that was probably like 10 years ago. It took me a while to get here, right? But I am here now, right? And the guy that was working with me a year and a half ago called me, he's like, man, he was no longer, no longer working in that company. He's like, man, I'm freaking proud of you. You always said you were going to become an agent and you freaking did it. You left this place and you freaking do it like you did what you said you were going to do. And I'm like, that's all it is. You just gotta follow through. But I go back and I visit the people that were working there. They're great friends to me, you know, they're like family. I work with them for 10, 12 years. I consider them family. But I see the mentality of people continuing to do the same thing. You know, showing up to work, working the eight, nine hours, going back home and repeating that. How many people are not leaving like that on a day to day basis? You know, that can be homeowners that can start investing in real estate, that can grow, you know, their family or, or break a generation cycle, generational cycle in their family and just, they just don't know it yet, you know. So for me that, that I got clarity through that visualization of what my avatar is. Because so many opportunities out there, so many people have opportunities to become homeowners and they don't know yet, you know, so, so yeah, it's, it's incredible. It's so impactful that we get in this business and oftentimes we forget why we're doing it. Right. Like we said, sometimes we focus on the transaction part of it, on, on growing or getting certain numbers, achieving certain numbers, getting certain recognition. But I think it's so important to be grounded into, you know, what your avatar is, who you want to work with, because you have to establish that and then be able to grow different plants along the way in order to have that exit strategy. But most of all to make a significant impact in the community and the people that you're touching. [00:49:24] Speaker B: Definitely that was beautiful. I was like a nice, like way to kind of package everything and put it together, especially with kind of tying it into what he was talking about with his garden, right. And how he was saying how his, the strawberries are competing with the raspberries and they're trying to take over the onions and that he really liked how so many different things were fighting to feed him. If you think about your business like that and you invest in all the different areas of your business instead of just like on one specific area. But if you're investing in all of the areas of your business or take it broader and you're investing in a bunch of different types of people instead of just the perfect client. Ultimately you're going to have all that coming back, you know, competing for your attention, your time. Because now you've seen sewn, you know, all of those and now it's time to. Was it reap what you sow? Is that the. I'm really bad with like expressions? I think it's reap what you sow, weep, reap, I don't know, something like. [00:50:25] Speaker A: That, you know, and, and you can see there that his guarding is, is that his business is also a reflection on his garden. Right. He has so many other opportunities coming from different angles and his guarding is. It's all over the place. He hasn't prone the trees, he hasn't, you know, the strawberries, you know, overgrew to the other areas. So now from three years ago where he thought, you know, it was a down moment for a particular area of the business and he decided to jump into real estate now being productive in the real estate space, focusing in that area, but also watering all the other plants. Now you see that everything else is growing as well. And now it's just a matter of, of cleaning it up. Cleaning it up, making sure that everything has a. The space to grow to where he wanted to be. Because everything can be done. But you also have to stay organized. You also have to stay committed to putting in the work. Right? Yeah. Some plants, you can water it from time to time and they're going to grow to beautiful tree. You got to identify what the right plan is in this business. You've got to identify what those opportunities are. Right. And be able to wear it down. When you and I first met, you know, we looked at this opportunity as, as one of those things that could help us not only in their, in our real estate space. Right. But also as an opportunity to, to build something else on the side that could down the road, pay dividends, but allow us open the door to more opportunities. And here we are today because of that, right. We've grown in our real estate space. We open up a podcast. We are, we're still active real estate agents. We are helping and contributed to other real estate agents. I, you know, I've joined my exp. Since then. I've. I'm helping nine other agents in the organization. So it allows me to work with other agents, be able to coach and mentor them and also think about that extra strategy. Right. Because we tend to focus just on getting production and, and taking care of what's in front of us. But sometimes we have to also think about you know, five years from now, what's going to happen? So five years from now we'll have a very successful podcast. [00:53:11] Speaker B: Yes, we will. [00:53:12] Speaker A: You know, but man, Heather, today's been fun, huh? [00:53:16] Speaker B: Today has been fun. Today has been crazy. This is a very unique podcast today. And you know, it's funny because I just realized that half the time we were worried about whether or not he was on camera. And this is going to be distributed well on YouTube. Obviously there'll be video, but most of this distributing is going to be just the audio. So it really didn't even matter if we were on camera or not. [00:53:41] Speaker A: But, well, I guess for whoever is watching our videos on YouTube, then, yeah, they get to see the, the video part of it. So it's, it's going to be interesting. I like to see some comments on that. But this is, this is what makes it great. I think we want to have stories like this, right? Like Aaron stories two years ago. He didn't have that many listings. When I first got introduced to him after he joined exp, he's looking, working with another, you know, marketing company. He was getting the type of listings that he wanted, type of production he wanted. Ever since he started working with us, we help him align a few things in his business, his production increase, his listing increase from 0 to 20 distance a year and a half. Right. And it's great to see, you know, because how much has grown over the past year and how all the, how many of the things line up in his business, in his life, you know, so it's, it's. I always say sometimes you meet people because it's the right time and things happen according the way they should. It's just as humans, sometimes we want things when we want it, but that's might not be the right time. [00:55:07] Speaker B: We definitely do want things when we want them. And as a whole, we're not very patient. I'm probably the least patient person out of everybody I know, so I'm guilty of that. [00:55:19] Speaker A: But I'm not patient with a couple of things. But for the most part, I'm the most patient person you're probably gonna know. [00:55:27] Speaker B: Tony. Tony and I were here telling me last night he was using my computer. He's like, man, your computer is fast. I was like, really? All day long. I feel like it's not going as fast as I want it to go. And. And he like gives me this crazy look and I'm like, do I just have unrealistic expectations? And he's like, yes, okay, I guess I want the Computer to do my. To do my action before I even tell it to do. I just want it to, like, be done. [00:55:55] Speaker A: All right, so you need a whole AI computer now. You think of something and it's automatically getting it done for you. [00:56:02] Speaker B: That's what I told him. I'm like, I want a computer that's going to work at the speed of thought. As soon as I think it, it's done. [00:56:07] Speaker A: All right. That should be scary. That would be fun. At the same time, right? Oh, man. We are about to wrap it up. It's been great, great show today. Completely unorthodox. We were. We put this episode together and at the same time, it came. It came apart the same way we put it together. So I. But I appreciate Aaron being here and we're gonna get to more of them, I promise you, because he has so much to share in regarding his business, his production, his mindset, the things that happen and how he's establishing his business as well as other opportunity around the real estate space because of his success in real estate allows him to. To water those plants, plant the seeds and continue to water them. And I think we're going to get into more details on that on another episode. But moving forward, Heather, what are some of the things that we want to be talking about? Because I know as buyers and sellers, we can bring a lot of content and we're gonna. We want to answer some of those questions that as a buyer and seller may have looking into the real estate space. [00:57:24] Speaker B: Yes, we're definitely going to jump back onto our game board on some of our episodes and talk about all those different pieces, all those different components of the home buying process and what those mean. We're going to have some more lenders on the show to really break down what an appraisal is, what different aspects of the contract mean. And obviously not everybody is in the same state as you, in the same state as me. So things may vary depending on their real estate market. So this is more just kind of give you a idea in general of the home buying process and the legalities of certain things. I know that we want to have vendors on here not only for the real estate business, but things that could help you around the house as well. I know where. I'm not sure if we had talked about it yet, but I have a safety person who talks about how to make your home make sure that even because safety goes beyond smoke detectors and carbon dioxide detectors. So talking about stuff steps you can put in place to make your home extra safe for you and Your kids, especially if you have babies. So just a lot of stuff coming up I'm really excited about and hopefully we have them on camera the whole time and it doesn't go in and out. [00:58:34] Speaker A: Absolutely. I think that would be great because if you're also looking to buy properties to invest or, or have tenants in right to rent, safety is a big concern. You want to make sure you take all the appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the tenants. So that, that's a great topic to touch on. We also want to have title company expert here as well as insurance and the importance of that process in the buying or selling, you know, so we want to get their perspective in those, that particular process so that we have an inside look into what that looks like and for buyers and sellers to have a clear understanding, you know, why this is so important and in that process for them. So I think it's going to be great. We're going to put that together, we're putting the schedule together so we can highlight what we're going to be talking about for the next month or so, who our guest is going to be as well. And at the same time, if you are looking as a real estate agent, you need tools, you need a team coaching to help you in any particular area. We have the resources, the team to be able to help in that capacity. If you like, if you want to increase your production as a real estate agents, you know, let us know. You can schedule a call with us, we can help you out. We have different ways to make that happen with our partnership with Cloud Realty as well. So we'd love to have a conversation and see what we can do to you in that space as well. So again, it's been a great show today, completely unorthodox, completely. You know, things change a little bit here and there, but it's great having a conversation with Aaron and we look forward to putting him back on so that we can continue to dive in into his business, his mindset and everything that's happening.
